One of Uvita Costa Rica's finest ocean view estate properties. Two spacious building sites. Total privacy. Gorgeous sweeping views with Uvita's Whales Tail front and center. Stand in one place and look around at Costa Rica's finest presentation of ocean, mountain and canopied jungle. The Rio Cortezal provides the background music for life on El Rio. Saunter down the private pathway to the waterfalls and pools of the nearby river. El Rio is the last property on the private drive, so there is no drive-by traffic. Absolute privacy while not being overly remote. Distance to Uvita's town center is 4 kms - about an 8 minute drive, less by ATV. If you are perusing the listings on the various real estate websites, you have seen your share of hyperbole. The problem with this property is that I can't describe it without using effusive statements. In the case of El Rio, its all true. I will attempt to understate so that you'll be pleasantly surprised when you view it.
Your driveway entrance to the property is the end of the Whale's Tail Estates road. Step out of your car and down onto the upper building site. This is a spacious site with room for a large house and pool. The views are superb... oops. Let's say very nice. The upper building site, by itself, would qualify as a "very nice" ocean view property, whales tail and all. "All" including a very nice mountain range that is frequently enshrouded in tropical jungle mists and which provides habitat to many diverse tropical wildlife. Birds are plentiful.
Step down to the lower building site and your impression of the upper site will change. As nice as it is, the upper site is secondary to the lower site. The lower site is huge, (sorry, I've got to be honest here). There is room here for a large, sprawling single level home with room for extensive gardening, pool and imaginative designs of living space. A pod-like layout, connected by open air pathways would work but that is just me talking.
The view from the lower site is even more open to the ocean and whales tail than the upper. There are constant ocean breezes buffeting the property for the perfect 24/7 climate. You are near to the river and it provides the peaceful and subtle background for this setting.
From the lower site you step down onto the pathway that leads to the river. If at this point you are not sufficiently romanced by the property itself, you will be when you walk down to the river.
El Rio offers the best of Costa Rica - "quintessential" would be the word: lots of room for homesite design, sweeping, elegant views of the ocean and nature's splendor. The property is fully equipped with a great water system that is fed by 2 sources. Electricity is to the site. There is on-site property care as well.
Who is El Rio good for? As a single family estate property it is extraordinary even when viewed on a global scale. As a family compound it works well since there is abundant space for several houses. The migration life-style would work well as the property is just so darn nice. You'd have a great Costa Rica home, while no doubt enjoying good rental occupancy while not there. Your guests would be moved to write hyperbolic reviews on the various rental sites.
